Contact Spector
Not everyone here is a Dr. Paul fan and I respect that however I was sent this alert and I am rather sure it is relevant to everyone who opposes the stimulus package.

February 10, 2009
Dear Pennsylvania C4L Member,
As I write this email, it appears that the Senate version of the "stimulus" package will come up for a vote today.
It is no secret that this almost trillion dollar boondoggle is just more of the same failed big government thinking that led us into the current economic crisis.
Although it is being marketed as a treatment for the economy's woes, this disaster-in-the-making will only further devalue our dollar, increase our national debt, and continue our country's descent into socialism.
The fate of the Senate version was largely in doubt until three Republican senators recently caved to intense pressures and agreed to vote for the legislation.
These three senators are:
- Arlen Specter - Pennsylvania
- Susan Collins - Maine
- Olympia Snowe - Maine
Because of this turn of events, I'm asking all Pennsylvania Campaign for Liberty members to contact Senator Specter's office and express your outrage at his abandonment of free market principles.
Remind him that he took an oath to uphold the Constitution, and that a vote for this bill would signal his utter disregard for that document.
Senator Specter's Washington office can be reached by phone at (202) 224-4254 and by fax at (202) 228-1229. Click here to email him. You can find contact information for his local offices by visiting our Pennsylvania State page and selecting "Congressional Information" on the page's main menu.
You can also click here for a sample letter to send to Senator Specter. As I've said before, although it is easy to get the feeling that calling and writing D.C. is futile, that's exactly what they want you to think. Don't allow them to discourage you from making your voices heard. Even if the bill passes, keep up the pressure and let them know that you're not going away!
Thank you for all of your hard work for our cause. By sticking together and fighting for our principles no matter what, I firmly believe that we will achieve our goals of reclaiming our Republic and restoring our Constitution.
In Liberty,
John Tate
President, Campaign for Liberty
P.S. There is no shortage of bad legislation this year in Congress. Please consider helping us fight on as many fronts as possible by contributing to C4L today.
If you could please take the 3 or 4 minutes and let Sen Spector know just how you feel.

Re: Contact Spector
From what I understand his office is being flooded with people like us telling him to vote against this piece of tripe. I sent him a "nice" email on Saturday suggesting that he really needs to reconsider his position.
I didn't mention that retirement would be a better alternative than running again should he support this garbage and it passes though.

Re: Contact Spector
He's said publicly that he has made up his mind. He admits the bills sucks but "we've got to do something." Obviously they are not listening any more.

Re: Contact Spector
His lines have been busy for over a week now, I think they are just off the hook to be honest. I'll bet I've tried to call 100 times and can't get through, no response to emails either. I gave up, the last one I sent basically said Mike Veon thought he was untouchable also and look where he is. I am making it my mission to get everyone I know to vote against this clown in the next election. I'd rather have a registered Dem in there instead of a wolf in sheeps clothing, at least you know where you stand with them.
Edit to add: Ok, I broke down and sent one more email to try to discourage the good senator. It was painless, everyone reading this has 5 extra minutes to do the same. If you don't have an extra couple minutes then you why are you wasting time on the board, lol!!Last edited by jerkin; February 10th, 2009 at 02:52 PM.
