If hot brass were gold nuggets...
...I'd be rich.
Last week, while his wife was shooting my SR22P, an elderly gent made a hole-in-one in my shirt-pocket with and S&W .40 out of his Sig. Let me tell you, those little buggers have plenty of "thermal inertia" around the rim. I didn't really feel the shell landing, but I did feel the burn about five seconds later.
Wednesday night, at the .22 indoor shoot, the young lady next to me managed to put one into the front pocket of my shorts. Again, didn't feel the shell land, but sure felt the heat. Didn't help my group at all. I told her that we could either pull down the deflector shade, or she had to fish the next one out of my pocket.
Her husband pulled down the shade

Re: If hot brass were gold nuggets...
So now you know why the ol' Army Sarge's always insisted that troops on the range made sure that:
1. All their pocket flaps were buttoned closed
2. Top button on blouses was buttoned closed
3. Headgear (preferable helmet, but at least a brimmed hat) was worn.
4. Eye and ear protection worn.
5. Sleeves rolled down and buttoned at wrist.
It's the personal part of the safety program.

I bet it wasn't as cool as this:
Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.
