non-adhesive camo tape for long guns?

Anybody ever use a non-adhesive camo tape for their long guns? I don't want to paint my AK (at least not yet), but I am considering wrapping the handguard and buttstock in camo tape. If I do this, I will do it so that the AK's 2 piece handguard can be removed and worked on the same manner it can be now. Any thoughts?

Not sure about a ak, but on AR, the heat is the killer on the barrel and hand guard if you shoot allot.

I was thinking that too. Maybe buying Magpul furniture and going the Krylon camo paint job is the way to go. Hmmmm

I've done it on my predator rig.



Worked for its intended purpose, I didn't really take my time and it still looked OK. For how cheap the tape was it's worth a try. If you hate it, take it off and use the tape for something else - you can use it on anything.
