Pocket knife question
I am looking for a good folding knife with approximately 2.5 straight edge blade. I have several average quality knifes. I want something with a great quality blade that hold the sharpness for more then a few cuts. It also must be small with a belt clip.
What do you guys suggest?
I have a $300 budget.

Re: Pocket knife question
That blades a bit small for my tastes, so don't have any model names, but anything from Benchmade, Spyderco, Zero Tolerance/Kershaw will work well, and be within your budget.

A second vote for Benchmade! Be sure to keep the box also, I'm told they'll sharpen it for you if you send it to them in the original box.

Re: Pocket knife question
First knives that jump to mind is the Spyderco Techno (though it's technically 2.55")

Do you have a style of knife in mind? Like traditional slipjoint, locking folder, etc. Brands you prefer or avoid?
2.5" blade is going to limit your choice w/r/t steel choices probably. Open it up to fixed blades that you can carry in a pocket sheath and you have some more choices.
Edit:
Here's a couple sites you can sort by size:

Re: Pocket knife question
By "straight edge" do you mean a Wharncliffe style blade, which is like a large boxcutter?

About $150 from Amazon.
This one is closer to your stated size. 5:11 used to give them away free if you bought a pair of their pants, so I have a couple. It's not a high end knife by any means, but it holds an edge pretty well & it's only $30.

Re: Pocket knife question
I've picked up a "few" knives over the years. I've been carrying a Benchmade Mini Griptilian & Osborne for a few years now & like them, but this is my new favorite:
Zero Tolerance 0562 flipper.

Re: Pocket knife question
There are many manufacturers out there now that make a good knife. Any of them that use Chinese 440c stainless isn't among them. Spyderco, Gerber, Benchmade, Bear and Son, Case, Canal Street, Ontario, etc... all make nice knives.
Here's a list of American made knives that may fill your needs.
