    Default AR-15 BLACK Fixed Stock

Been looking for a AR-15 BLACK Fixed Stock but all I can find lately are too beat up or dark grey. Any suggestions?

All the fixed stocks I've seen come dark grey. Once you oil the A2 stock it becomes black.

Matte spray paint will also do the trick - 12"-16" away with 4+ light coats, and that should do it.

My stock was grey when I got it too, I just took some cheap outers oil and rubbed it on and then put it in a zip loc for a day or two, nice shade of black then.

    +1 to Lycan.

You don't have to do that at all, I was putting it back in my range case and didnt want all that oil leaking onto the foam.

Most any CLP will do....stay away from solvents. I used FP-10, but wouldn't be surprised if Mobile 1 would work....or even Vaseline. I didn't bother with the plastic bag....I just rubbed it in heavy and, as time went on,....it just stayed black.

Does oiling the stock perform any other purpose than just turning it black?

    Vaseline prevents chapping.

All "Black" stocks start out as grey.....as far as I have ever seen.......
