Default AR? Nope. FAL? Nope. AK? Nope.

It's a little bit of all I suppose! Out of all my guns, this is BY FAR my favorite.

I finally got my Robinson Armament XCR back from some much needed trigger work, so combine me missing the gun (and finally getting it back) with some free time.....

That thing is just flat out SEXY. Although I know I can get an AR for A LOT less money, I'm still thinking about an XCR... I just wish there was a shop near me that had one in stock; I hate buying stuff sight unseen.

Well you can get an AR for a lot less, but for similar feature on an AR it's going to be even more! A quality AR gas piston upper is the price of the entire XCR, so apples to oranges anyway, but you get what I'm saying. They're tough guns to find in stock though, so good luck.

It's also my 'never leave the house without it" item. I used to carry the shiny one, but the camo blade is more discreet.

In simple laymen terms, (or rifles for dummies language) someone explain the big difference between this and an AR.

I suppose that the simplest way to explain is that the only similarities that it has with an AR, is the overall exterior look. The inside function/operating system is closer to that of an AK, and absolutely nothing like an AR.
