Giving my son a pistol
I know Iam allowed to give my son a handgun without doing paperwork, but is it still ok if he is living in Va.Would I have to own the gun for some length of time or could I buy one and give it to him within a month.

Re: Giving my son a pistol
You = PA resident. Him = VA resident.
It must go through a FFL in VA.. ALL interstate transfers regardless of relations must go through a FFL. The only exceptions is bequeathed firearms and intestate succession - which both requires your death.
Handguns must be transferred through a FFL in the receiving party's state.
Long guns can be transferred in either party's state at a FFL(barring state law).RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515, SteveWag

Re: Giving my son a pistol
I suppose you could "give" him the gun.... just make sure your son pays the transfer fee at the FFL in VA.
If he doesnt want to do that Ill pay the fee (of course, Id want the gun too)
