March Madness, Possibly $500, what to buy?

For the first time ever, I've actually done well in a bracket pool. My friend organized a $20 per bracket pool. I made my bracket fully expecting to come in last place (or at least do poorly like I always have). But this year was different. I'm currently sitting in 2nd place. I have UNC winning. The person in first place has Michigan St. (no one else in the pool has Mich St. so even if UNC loses, I come in 2nd).

1st place is $500 and 2nd place is $250.

I'd like some suggestions on what to spend the money on. Lately I've been looking into some courses like the NRA Basic Pistol or Personal Protection in the Home. So I'll probably spend some of the money on one or both of those. I'm also hoping to take the Utah CFP course offered by BCI Instructor on this board.

But, I would kind of like to get a new toy as well. I currently have a G19 that I carry, but I've been considering getting a .45acp for CC. Any suggestions on good .45acp carry guns would be great. Any suggestions on what to spend $250 or $500 in general would be good. I know $250 won't buy a gun, and even $500 might not be quite enough, so I'd be willing to put up the difference out of pocket.
