Traveling in New Jersey with guns..
So I am a PA resident and work in NJ, and during the summer have "summer fridays", where we are allowed to take a half day every friday.
Id like to be able to take my guns to work (all semi autos and are illegal in NJ),and than stop off at the range when I have these half day fridays.
Legally, am I able to transport my unloaded M1a, Ar's M1 carbines, etc...through NJ like this?

Re: Traveling in New Jersey with guns..
In the scenerio you just described you would be Illegal and prosecuted with extreme prejudice. From your home in Pa. to the range might be legal (provided firearms are NJ legal and stored properly). But you can't take them to work in NJ and then go to the range in NJ.

Re: Traveling in New Jersey with guns..
The range I would go to is not in NJ. It is in PA. SOrry I did not make that clear. Let me ask again
If I leave my PA residence with guns (locked in cases and unloaded) to go to work NJ, and than after work stop at my range in PA am I breaking any NJ laws?Last edited by glocke12; February 27th, 2011 at 10:11 AM.

yes, you're breaking NJ law, but if you still want to do it roll the dice and see if you end up in jail.

Unless you rob a liquor store. In that case, you might be able to plead and get the gun charges dropped. But, as law abiding citizen, you're going to jail on several counts.
If caught you will go to jail.
I am Not a Lawyer. But you don't need one for this question. Yet...

Since the Constitution is not honored in NJ, it's no different then going to a foreign Country.
I suggest finding a job in this country. Its easier to fool people than to convince them they've been fooled....Mark Twain

Re: Traveling in New Jersey with guns..
Sigh...Wish I could. This really pisses me off. It is hard enough these days for me to find time to shoot. Now I find out I can't stop off at the range on my way home from work. Instead I have to drive an hour to get home, than load up and drive another 30 minutes to get to the range which is actually on my way home from work (sort of anyway, it is BCFG).
