Default DPMS vs. Rock River AR-15

I'm looking for ar-15 and i can't figure out what i want i've narrowed my choices down between rock river and dpms and i don't know witch to get
    • i want a 16" barrel
    • carry handle with peep and front sight
    • stay under $1000
    • might buy a 20" upper and shoot comp. later on
    • i don't think i'll ever get optics

So if someone could tell me whitch they think is a better choice it would be very helpful

Man ... that's a loaded question. There have been numerous threads that go back and forth between which one is "better". Your not going to get a solid answer. In fact, someone will mostly come in and say just buy a Colt and it will at a how new level.

My suggestion (with out knowing exactly what your intended uses for the rifle) is to buy which ever one you can find.

    Buy a Colt. Seriously.

But, if you're stuck with those two choices get the RRA. In my opinion, DPMS is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to AR's

You get what you pay for.... You can pick up BNIB Colt 6920's for $1399 if you look around enough...I know because i just did

Of the 2 he posted about though, the RRA is the better gun. The last i looked, the del-tons that you mentioned are several months out before you can get one. At least that is what they were saying for uppers.

Reason I made the $1000 statement about the Colt.

Just love it when people post without reading the thread.

Jesus bud wtf is your problem. I read the post. I commented on Mojo's post about people saying to just buy a Colt---then I told him of the 2 he asked about that the RRA was the better buy.

    And you claim i can't read .

I just put together a RRA CAR M4-ish kind of rifle and I love it.

I started my venture back in January and I finally got everything I needed this month. If I was in your shoes and could start over, I would buy an assembled rifle (maybe spend a little more then I originally budgeted) that has MOST (or some) of the characteristics I want. Then over the next couple of years fine tune and upgrade with things I want as the money comes in. My perception of what I want now is much different from what I wanted when I first started
