    Default BCA “quality”

While I financially profit from fixing this companies fuck ups (to be fair they do correct their fuck ups but many customers just want their gun fixed now and don*t want to wait for it to be sent back).

The latest pile of trash started as a customer bringing in his rifle and saying the handguard was loose.

Well it was, as in the barrel nut wasn*t tight. The rifle was a few days old.

This is the mess I found after taking off the HG:

Now, as many of you know from building your own, a four sided nut is good, a six or eight would work but a five flat nut where the five flats aren*t even flats makes it impossible to tighten that nut except with maybe a pipe wrench.

Also note the use of oil in the threads, I*ve yet to take apart a Palmetto or BCA upper that had moly on it, always light oil.

I was also doing up a Trump gun for another customer also using a new and unfired BCA upper and I was able to use that nut to fix the other customers gun. On this upper I had to for the first time ever on a new factory upper use not only heat but also a four foot cheater pipe on my 1/2* breaker bar to remove the nut that was in no way torqued properly.

So one was never torqued and the other was grossly over torqued.

Again, I*m sure they*ll send a replacement barrel nut but c*mon, this is ridiclous.

The Trump upper if anyone is interested, my third of last week:

Just ranting... If you have a BCA rifle/upper id strongly suggest you take off the HG and check that nut for the correct torque. This isn*t the first of these I*ve had to fix.

    Why?

    It makes me money.

Just because Trump ruined my job and put me in debt doesn*t mean I hate him.
Unlike the snowflakes here and elsewhere I can criticize someone but still agree with them on some things.
Being a baglicker isn*t my forte, that*s for others to practice.

And as long as people keep bringing this shit up I*ll keep responding in kind.
Trump is an overall failure, so what? That doesn*t make me cry. Trump Did a few good things, very few, could have did much more if he wasn*t such a narcissist but that*s for history to decide.

I stopped in out of sheer sheer boredom and to utilize the classifieds, hoping things have changed.

Since the power mod is still a mod, and since the scummy immigrant that insulted my children is still a member, I*ll again take my leave from the general forum and only continue to use the classifieds.

Continue to reload sir, it*s a great thing to know and a better thing to practice as this time should show others.

Those "hollowed out" flats ARE puzzling.

Would they have a special tool just for their barrel nut?
    Looks weird.

They must have a tool that clamps onto the flats and is used to tighten
The nut. Looks like someone skewed the clamp and made an extra
Flat. I have a dozen BCA barrel nuts and none look like that
