My daughter told me she is interested in going there next year,so tell me,how is the campus and the surronding area crime wise,she will commute every day,not live in the area. Thanks

excellent school.....neighborhood is getting better...just dont wander off too far from campus!

Thanks for the reply,i will have a talk with her about it and the risks involved, i would prefer she went to PSU Worthing as it's only about a mile from the house,hell i can see a part of one of the buildings from my front poarch, but if she wants Wilks,Wilks it shall be.

I don't remember seeing any incidents involving Wilkes students in a long time. Why don't you come down and check it out for yourself? Of course there is a much better school on the other side of Market Street! But I wouldn't hesitate sending my kid to Wilkes. I am sure that during orientation she will be told about the areas of Wilkes-Barre that it would not be prudent to visit. And Wilkes students who wander too far off campus will fall in the river.

I told my wife about this thread. She works in town and says that Wilkes has jitneys to ferry students around. Well, La Dee Dah! Faith and a Glock will keep her safe anywhere.
