Default Question about Springfield XD Models...

I am looking to buy a Springfield XD 9mm 3" Sub-Compact (XD9801HCSP06) for my concealed gun. This gun comes with the 10+1 & 16+1 magazines.

I am also looking to buy a Springfield XD 9mm 4" Service Model (XD9101HCSP06) for my trips to the range. This gun comes with two(2) 16+1 magazines.

Now, my question is this: Do these XD Models use the same 16+1 magazine?

You can use the Service model Mgs in the Sub-C model gun but you can't use the Sub-C model Mgs in the Service model gun. The higher cap Sub-C model mag has a spacer on it, it's basically the same magazine as the Service models

Me, IMHO I'd just get the service model, the grip frame is 3/4" longer and I've never had a problem with concealing the One I had. The longer sight radius (barrel) will be worth the difference in size

I know this wasnt your question, but you may be pleased to know that the newer XD9SC are coming with a 13 rd mag (same size as the older 10 rd mags) and the 16 rd mag with grip extension.

Will the XD9SC still use the 10 & 16 round magazines that the XD9801HCSP06 uses or no?

No because the 16+1 for the SC has a spacer

You mean will the SC take the service model mags, as long as they are the same caliber yes.

I believe that you can also remove the spacer from the 16 round sub-compact mags to use in the tactical/service models. I'll try to verify this later.

Yes the spacers, or X-Tensions, can be slid off easily.
