    Question 10/22 scope needed

I'm looking for a decent scope for a 10/22. It needs to be silver/grey colored. I' m looking for the best bang for my buck. I've had good luck with simmons in the past

Does anyone know the number for 9-1-1?

You did not state what you intend to use the rifle for, but for what it's worth I have owned 10/22's for nearly forty years. I used a Weaver 1.5 power for lots of swamp rabbit and small game hunting. My 10/22's now are mounted with red dot sights. The ultra dot is available at eabco.com for $135.00. Red dots are fast and plenty accurate for most shooting.

For a scope I would mount a low power - not over 2.5 - something with a wide field of view and non critical eye relief. Rings should be as low as possible.

    There is nothing wrong with a 3 x 9 or a 4 x 12 x 40 Simmons.

    1 inch tube.

Anything over $120 should be a good scope.

I just use a Weaver 2x7 rimfire scope on my 10/22. It cost me $120. I don't feel I need any more magnification than this, but if you do, look for something else.

Hey, I showed you that target before, I'm gonna frame it. Do you mean the folks from Joisey dumping mags with the 45, after the Warden chewed us out for firing more than 3 consecutive rds out of the WASR?

I had to look back again at our pics to remeber the target. "The Warden", LOL! That was total bull that day with that guy screaming in there with his truck and spouting off like that.

The best bang for your buck would be a on Optronics 4x20.
A silver onne came free with my Marlin semi-auto .22. They retail for $30, but you can find them for $10 online. I found the black version for $6.53. It's actually an OK scope; way better than the Tasco junk I paid $30 for and had on my 10/22 20 years ago.

I have used everything from 1x to 6x on .22 rifles and find that 6x was way too much. 4x is ok. The .22 is basically a 75 yard rifle for hunting. Anything past that is promlematic coupled with a degree of luck. After reading all of these posts, I still recommend something with a wide field of view. Quite a few years ago, we hunted swamp rabbits with a pack of beagles. We used only .22 rifles and pistols and never shot rabbits we jumped - only after the dogs ran them and we could head the off. I averaged 70 or so rabbits with the 10/22 and the 1.5 power Weaver. I think now if I had the red dot then the score would be higher.
