Default Just obtained a Glock 19

Manufacture date of March 1989, pristine condition, Austrian markings, with about 300 rounds total through it (I know the owner).

Any thoughts as to whether I should send it to Glock for mandatory and/or optional upgrades? Any concerns as to why I should not take it to the range to shoot it? Any collector value? Thanks

You should be eligible for a safety upgrade, unless it's already been done.

    Collector's value? - probably not

Shoot it? - I don't recall any serious safety defects with the early pistols. I see no harm in putting a few boxes through it, before getting the upgrade. Heck, if you need to send the pistol to Glock in Georgia, might as well send it in filthy.

    Hey Suburban:

Thanks for the reply. The referral to the gunzone article was very informative. I know that the "upgrades/recall issues" were never addresssed. Something to think about. Thanks again.
