Longer Mags in a Glock 27?
Hello!
I have a Glock 27 with the two standard 9 round mags. I also have a 13 round mag left over from my Glock 23. I understand that the 13 round will also work in my 27, but is there any disadvantages to having the magazine stick out (other than looking a little weird)? I'm just concerned about any function related draw backs.
Thanks!

I should be getting my 33rd mag for my Glock 19 very very soon so I hope not! To be honest I don't see a problem.

Re: Longer Mags in a Glock 27?
I wanted the smallest Glock because I already have plenty of full size pistols. It was difficult to hold the G26 9mm or the G27 40 S&W but with different mag extensions, it made all the difference.

As far as bigger mags? No problem and all the benefits.
Glock Magazine Spacers by A&G
With Concealed Carry popularity on the rise, the Glock compact and Glock sub compact pistols, becoming must haves. The draw back has always been the fit of your firearm, and lack of rounds if needed, which is why the full size magazine as a backup, is the best solution. The A&G has develop a spacer sleeve that secures in place of the set screw and eliminates the gap left between the full sized magazines and compact pistols.

Re: Longer Mags in a Glock 27?
you can use the longer mags. i haven't heard of anyone having any function issues with them.
the only issue is that the whole point of the smaller gun is to make it more concealable. however, the concealability is really determined by length of the grip (particularly the backstrap), not the length of the slide/barrel. by sticking a longer mag it in, you are essentially lengthing the grip from that standpoint, and, thus, negating the concealability advantage and kinda defeating the whole purpose of having the smaller gun.
(the grip extensions are not as big of a deal in this regard as they don't lengthen the backstrap portion of the grip much...which is the part that really counts from a concealability standpoint.)
lots of people carry a longer mag as their backup mag, though. that way, they maintain the concealability advantage while also having more rounds in reserve.
but, other than the concealability issue, i have never heard of anyone having problems from using the longer mags.F*S=k

Re: Longer Mags in a Glock 27?
Advertising? It is not my store. I don't know what that meant.
There is nothing weird about it, it's just part of Glock's master plan.
But, in any case, your initial question was asking about function?
The great thing about Glocks of the same caliber was that all the mags of longer pistols will work fine in your smaller pistol. G17, G19, G26, and G34 are a set. The "advertising" I showed you was that there are aftermarket sleeves to slide over your longer Glock 22 mag to fill in that space between the bottom of the gun and the bottom of the mag. For 9mm, there are sleeves to fit a 17 mag to a 19 or a 19 to a 26 or a 17 to a 26. If you using the 9mm, you can use the Glock 33 round mags as well. It is the same with Glock 40 S&W mags for the G22, G23, and G27.
In the event of that you wanted to have more than one gun, having overlapping mags works well. (mags you can use in more than one gun) Every try to hold a G26 or G27? It is nice to have a small gun but some people can't hold it very well with only two fingers. The finger extension for the G26 and G27 short mags makes all the difference between being able to shoot the sub compact gun or not. (The first picture)
The added bonus is that you can now with the sleeves, you can use the larger mags to fill out the grip so that you in effect, have a full size grip. If you go further, you can upgrade to Wolf barrels that will give you the full length barrel as well as a fully supported chamber that you can shoot cast bullets in also.

Never had a problem, and you shouldn't either.
