Re: Woman gets past TSA with loaded gun
Insanity... Good for her and the DA though. She took a huge risk turning herself in, could of easily been charged. (albeit less risky than not turning yourself in) Good job though for no charges for a responsible citizen who made a mistake.
BUT,,, How did that really happen!!! With everything that you are put through at airports these days, how the heck did she get a gun on board??? Casinos have better security than Airports, lol.
Thanks Ross

I don't know about you, but I'm glad they created a government agency so they could create this government agency. I feel so much safer.

Re: Woman gets past TSA with loaded gun
Could you imagine what would have happened if she declared she had it while in mid air?

Re: Woman gets past TSA with loaded gun
The agents were probably too concerned with the size of her shampoo container to notice her gun.

Re: Woman gets past TSA with loaded gun
"She was visibly upset. She said she had a license to carry it and just forgot it," said Al Della Fave, Port Authority police spokesman. "The [Port Authority] officer took possession of the handgun and made it safe."
I am glad the weopon was put safe by the port authority. Just think how UN safe it was in the sky.... Oh yeah. PERFECTLY SAFE!!!!

Re: Woman gets past TSA with loaded gun
I managed to make it from Pittsburgh to Dallas with two loaded .38 speedloaders in my carry on backpack.....When I work a case in PA I am usually armed, and have most of my equipment in a backpack that holds what I need....I finished up a case out of town but still in PA and turned around right away and packed to fly to Texas for a week long case there. I usually unpack my bags totally then repack, but I guess I was in a hurry.....I managed to overlook the two speedloaders in my backpack. I got on a plane in Pittsburgh and flew to Dallas without TSA finding them in my bag.
I was done for the week and packing to come home, so I completely (I thought!) unpacked, and lo and behold a speedloader comes rolling out of my pack. I kind of froze for a minute when I realized what I had done, then unloaded the HKS and packed it in my checked bag. What I didn't realize was that his twin brother was still hiding in my bag. I know, great job I did of searching for it, but at that point I had just thought I had missed the one in the bag, didn't think there was another one. Yes, TSA found that one in the morning leaving Dallas. I can still remember the feeling of the blood rushing from my face when the agent called over a supervisor and he pulls out the other speedloader and asks me if it was mine. I told him it was, showed him my PI badge and told him my story, and that he could find another one in my checked bag to confirm the details of my story, but that it was a mistake on my part for it to be there. In the end, they were really cool about it, confiscated the loader and ammo, wrote up an incident report, and that was it. I have flown since, and it didn't put me on any special lists including proctological exams to board aircraft, so I figure I wasn't gonna bitch about the lost speedloader.
BTW, that was the beginning of a day of travel from HELL, thanks to an east coast ice storm and USAirways. What a pathetic excuse for an airline and a company. But, I digress.
