Springfield 1911
I've been wanting a 1911 for a long time and I really like the Springfield. The model is PX9151LP. It's a full size SS 45 with low profile sights. Beautiful gun. I made the mistake of picking one up and pulling the trigger and now I really want one. I found one for $780 new at a local gun shop (Fair price?). Do any of you own this gun or a similiar model and what luck have you had with it? I'm not interested in a big debate of which 1911 is better than the other because everyone has their favorite. I just want to know what you think of this particular gun. Thanks.

Re: Springfield 1911
I do not own a springfield. I own the Taurus. Most 1911 type folks will tell you that as long as you purchase one from a reputable manufacturer you should be okay. Again, I don't own a springfield, but $780 sounds fair.

Re: Springfield 1911
OP asked if anyone owned this particular model, don't know why BB responded.
You mean this one?
I've had mine for over a year now, and love it. I got mine from gunbroker.com for $699 + shipping($25) + xfer fees($20) with no sales tax as seller was outside PA,so OTD price was $744.
Mines' been great and fed everything w/o incident from factory ammo to reloads. One thing I must warn you about, as with ALL 1911's, be VERY careful when reassembling gun not to put the "idiot scratch" on the frame with slide release. Good luck!

this is the one hes talking about, you cant go wrong with a springfield. looks like a nice carry piece since its only a 4 inch barrel.

Re: Springfield 1911
Umm..no. I had it right the first time. Check the ser# at Springfields' website.
and as for Brown-bear
Actually, he said this:
Kinda like when someone asks opinions about buying a gun, but not interested in a Glock, XD, Sig etc..and someone replies "You should try a Glock"
