You can legally open carry in Pa.

The exception is within a city of the 1st class (1 million +), it is required to have a Pa License to carry firearms to carry concealed or openly.

Sorry... but I have to ask. Why do you want to open carry?

Open carry, since it's not illegal, cannot affect your LTCF.

Open carry is legal, open carry is legal, open carry is legal, anywhere within Pennsylvania, with or without an LTCF (except in Philadelphia where you must have an LTCF in order to open carry).

I was told that the LTCF is a license to carry a concealed firearm. It has nothing to do with open carry.
Open carry is not a good idea. Want to settle a bet about whether it's a good idea or not? Walk around with a gun displayed openly and see what happens. I'll win that bet within 24 hours, probably within 24 minutes.

well, if you hold off deciding who won the bet until the subsequent lawsuit is settled, you might just lose the bet.

and, actually, whether or not the police will even hassle you depends on what part of the the state you are talking about.

(note, i don't think open carry is a great idea from a tactical standpoing, but legally, it is no problem...if an LEO makes it too much of a problem for you, he is risking a lot.)

There is no telling if you will get it "taken off "you.

Many LEO do not know the laws regarding open carry.
I was told by a Sherriff's deputy that open carry is illegal in Pa and he would "302" anyone he would see open carrying.
I know he couldn't do it but HE didn't even know he couldn't do it(so he would). You would have to get legal counsel and eventually be good to go but it would probably cost you`.

I have open carried with a dozen other people into a restaraunt away from the city.
No problem. In the city, it would be dependant on the officer responding to the "man with a gun" call and anything could happen. You could be detained till it is straightened out as it probably would be with time. It might cost you or not.

This board has had input that Philly LEO have confiscated LTCF permits for making them respond. You would probably get it back. It may cost you.

Do a search about open carry. You should get a bunch of hits as all this has been gone over repeatedly, gone over repeatedly, gone over repeatedly.

I understand you haven't read the other threads so this is the best I can do you.

    Search on,
