Default Marlin model 45 camp carbine

Anyone have one of these? Was interested in purchasing one but was wondering if anyone could give me some input.

Think of it as a bigger 10/22 from what I recall. I think they use ruger handgun mags.

    EDIT:

I mis-read..sorry for some reason I was thinking of the ruger carbine when I made the 10/22 refrence.

    EDIT 2:

    Some info for you:

the buffers last only ~ 500-600 rounds. they only hold 7 or 8 rd mags. the carbine is not very durable. they go for ~$700-800 used.

for that price you could buy a new Rem 7600 pump in .223 that takes m16 mags. or a new Ruger Mini 14 target model in .223.

other than that....they are a good buy

I have one, had it for a log time. The Marlin mag that came with it was NG.
Other than that I have had no probelems with it.
I got it because of it using the Colt .45 mags. I have 6 15 rounders that work well in it, as well as about 2 dozen mags for the 2 Colts.
I lived in NJ when I got it, and of corse it is NJ legal, and has a very non-confrontational look to it.
On a couple of high risk jobs it was a comfort to have it in my trunk.
Fun gun to shoot, heavy enough that the recoil of the .45acp ammo is nothing.
I have a small red dot on it now days, and it serves as a nice reserve for the AR's and such.

I had the 9mm version for several years.

The 45 version uses 1911 mags, 9mm used S&W 59/5900/etc series handgun mags. If the 45 is anything like the 9mm - it'll be a good gun. My 9mm was really accurate and was a hoot at the range to shoot. Fed everything that I could find and never any problems.
