I think I finally get it. It's not about bringing things to school. IT IS ABOUT RULES ARE RULES.

Re: 5 Y.O. suspended for bringing a gun to school...
Well it is the rule. ( said in whiney, subservient tone)
Face it we no longer desire freedom we want to be ruled.
It's like the dialogue from Schindler's List when Helena says if there are rules that can be followed and you will be safe in contrast to arbitrary violence having nothing to do with anything you've done.
People want laws and regulations and strict order that they can mindlessly follow. Proclaim they are tax paying, law abiding citizens and get all they are entitled to. 40 hours a week, paid vacation and the entertainment of their desire.

"mindless" being the key word, IMO.
BTW, we were target shooting this afternoon in the back yard after the kiddos came home from school...and not a bubble to be seen. THE HORROR!!!!!

I'm not a "sue type" person, but I'd have to sue the pants off someone.

Come on guys that bubble gun is extremely dangerous. Someone could have got some soap in the eye or even worse slipped and fell. A child could have bruised his or her bum. This five year old had motive and opportunity to cause mass laughter and fun with a fully automatic bubble maker. Oh the HORROR of it all!
Aggies Coach Really ??? Take off the tin foil bro.

Why would they say it even resembles a firearm? Yes, It has a handle to hold and an button you have to keep pressed to make the fan work but it in no way looks like a real firearm.
Besides being plastic like a Glock there is no similarity........

I remember reading about a schoolkid being suspended because he had a pic of his Dad , serving over Iraq/Afghanistan(?) , in battle dress , holding his M4!.
Pointing yer finger/thumb gun at another kid will get ya suspended.I don't speak English , I talk American!

A "handgun" design is perfect for many hand tools. It is not made to look like a handgun for aesthetics. Doesn't a hand-held hair dryer look "gun-like"? But it would be ludicrous of me to suggest that it was made gun-like just for that reason alone.
