Police: Man Deposited $18K Bad Check

    http://www.wgal.com/news/27383996/detail.html

Last month, he stole a handgun from a home in Eden Township, police said.
I thought the states new contractor registration was supposed to solve the problem of shady contractors? I thought I'd post this because for me, I never let a contractor do work in my home without me being there and watching them.

I do remember a couple of articles in the past few weeks about someone having rifles stolen from a home in New Holland and Lebanon. I wonder if those homes had a contractor in recently.

I'm confused...he deposited a bad check and HE is in trouble? Isn't it supposed to be the person who wrote the bad check that gets in trouble?

Sounds like some crucial piece of information is missing. Did he forge a check, or deposit a check from himself that was no good?

    .
The new contractor registration stuff just makes them give their info, show they are insured and pay a fee. The contractor gets an ID #. There's a bunch of new regulations the contractors are supposed to follow, but not all do.

We make sure to keep an eye on repairmen in the house, too.

I generally only have people here that I either know personally or that have done business with someone that I know personally. It's very rare that I'll call anyone outside of that.

Watch the contractor bashing. 30 years here.

The contractor registration is the same as gun laws. The honest people follow it and the criminal type disregard it with the rest of the laws.

I wasn't bashing contractors, I was bashing the stupidity of the law, and you hit the nail on the head, which is good, since you're a contractor, I'd expect you to be able to.
