They (Work) has just let us use the computer. but just about everthing i look at is blocked as Websensor "Weapons" any idea why they would do that or *Cough* *Cough* a way around it *Cough*

i think there are websites you can go to that will bypass those web blockers, do a google search... back in college and highschool i'd also use the google or yahoo language translators,type in the link thats blocked in the convert whole website block and convert from spanish to english or french to english just something into english some words will be a bit out of place but you can get on the site

Websense by default blocks sites that contain words like "Gun". Your company probably went with the default configuration -most do.

1- Ask your IT guy if he has access and knows how to configure categories in Websense, if so move to #2

2- Ask HR if they have a policy regarding those sites, if not move to #3

3- Ask the boss if it's ok to change it.

4- It can be by-passed by an exception list of IP addresses.

Go to google and type the following (everything in red, including the + sign):

"Hack" + "Websense"

Follow the instructions - you should be able to view at your pleasure. On company time. Don't get caught, slacker

Harsh but true:

5-Explain why you need this website for your duties at work.

If you work for a decent sized place, web filtering is generally a firm policy, they have it in place for whatever reason.

If "IT" is just one guy, and you know the person, they might be willing to allow your login to access the site.

And if the IT dept is going through the trouble of blocking categories, they're not going to like you using a proxy server or program to get around it.
