Re: smith and wesson 40ve
Have a 9ve with 5000+ rounds without any hiccups. Absolutely love it and would trust my life to it. Unfortunately accessories are difficult to come by, even a decent holster that fits your tastes can be hard to find. Which is why I have an M&P and am getting a Glock. With that said, even with the heavier trigger I shoot the Sigma the best. Don't listen to the Sigma bashers who have never owned one or are judging based off of the failures of the first generation models. It is a quality gun at a great price and I'm sure you'll love it! Good Luck!

Re: smith and wesson 40ve
Other then heavy DA like trigger and the fact its one of the most ugry gun, I like it.
Infact, my very first gun was choice between Sigma 380 and PA63(bought PA 63, because ammo was cheaper)Audemus jura nostra defendere

Re: smith and wesson 40ve
They are nice guns for their modest price and I believe they are also quite under rated. I do not like their overly heavy trigger though.

Re: smith and wesson 40ve
I think if your used to heavy revolver DA trigger, you'd have no issue with it.
I do hear once you replace few springs in it, then trigger feel about that of Glock(which I hate).
But all Sigma's that I have seen in range, they seems to be very reliable and shooting sraight without any hickups.
Infact, I think S&W got this promotion going on now that if you buy one of their AR style rifle, you'll get Sigma for $99!
If they had that few months ago when I bought my bushy, I'd certainly bought S&W AR insteadLast edited by Mity2; December 6th, 2007 at 06:38 PM.

Re: smith and wesson 40ve
I have no intention of telling you what type of trigger to like or that your opinion is wrong, but there are some positives in that overly heavy trigger. First and foremost is the safety aspect when carrying. Like most popular striker fired pistols the Sigma is without a manual safety, but it is far more difficult to pull that trigger by accident than some of the other models. Also when practicing with the Sigma you really must focus on your trigger control. The Sigma was my first firearm and I did a majority of my training with it. Therefore my trigger control is excellent and I learned that if I can shoot tight groups with the Sigma most other guns are a breeze. Just some food for thought. That trigger isnt ALL bad.

Re: smith and wesson 40ve
I have a Sigma in 9mm. It was my first gun. S & W sells A LOT of them. They must have done something right. It did fail to feed one time with Remington Golden Sabers. But never a problem with FMJ. I've put several hundred rounds through it.
I'm not sure if I would buy one again. But that's probably because I'm too much of a Ruger fan. Decent gun for decent price.
