Where don't you carry
Does everyong carry at all times? Even if you're going to a doctors appointment where you know you're going to take your firearm off? Or possibly if you attend church do you carry in church?

Re: Where don't you carry
the only time i don't carry is when playing sports at a field where there are no locker facilities. i can't carry while actually playing, and i don't want to leave my gun in my bag on the sidelines where anyone could go rummaging through it.
otherwise, all the time unless it is illegal (like a courthouse or something, but i very rarely find myself going there). for doctor's visits, i just disarm when getting undressed and stick the gun in a pocket or bury it in a pile of clothes in the corner or something.
oh...and when i travel to states where i am not legally allowed to carry. that happens a couple times a year. sucks.

Re: Where don't you carry
Post Office.
Last time I was there w/my wife we got to where we were next in line and there's that damned "no guns" sign lookin' at me. My wife asks "Do you..." and before she can finish I say, "I'll be waiting in the truck!" Do you think they could put the sign at the entrance? I don't even think about it when I'm carrying anymore. Personally, it's like my wallet, I don't even think about it being there. it just is.
Walking the dog - Carry
Going to dinner - Carry
Shopping - Carry
Visiting Friends - Carry (But before I enter anyone's HOME, out of courtesy, I inform them that I have my handgun and offer to leave it in the truck if they'd rather not have it in the house. So far, I've not been asked to do so.)
Attending a show at a "convention center" - Carry
Shopping in sporting goods stores with "no loaded firearms permitted" signs - Carry
Church - No
Church Fish Fry - Carry
Doctor's office - No (There are too many anti-gun doctors and my gun is not of their concern)
Doctor's Waiting Room (While wife is in for visit) - Carry (Once my wife was having an MRI and after it was explained to her to leave all metal objects outside of the room, they called her back. When asked if I would like to keep her company during the procedure, I had to decline. The lady looked at me funny, but my wife knew why and told her that I had to run some errands and I'd be back to pick her up.)
Visiting a patient in Hospital - Carry (Most only use metal detectors after hours or if entering thru emergency room)
Bank - Carry
Work - No
Job Interview - No (Although no one would know)
I think that sums it up. I can't think of any other places than the two you mentioned that I WOULDN'T feel the need to carry.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

VA hospital, Jury duty, Police station (LEO actually asked if I was carrying when he printed me for my Utah permit and thanked me when I said no).
Never saw a post office with signage.

General rule: If I have pants on, I'm carrying.
Exceptions: Legally off-limits places and any place where I plan to drink more than a beer or two.Dan P, Founder & President, Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association
