    Default Is there a web bug on this site??

    I found something that now captivates me.

    When you load a page in the forum, at the top, below the tabs, there are two banners:

    "Do you know your legislators by name" and another smaller one next to it.

    When the page first loads, the upper left hand corner of the right banner is a black square, then the banner displays over it.


    Is that a web bug?

    As seen below in the photo that I've included, I do get a banner, but what's in the banner changes, from page to page, mine currently is different than the one you mentioned ("Get the latest Headlines ...."), but I have seen the one you spoke of before, as for the black square, the banners are hotlinked and I think, for a second or two, you're seeing the "placeholder" for the hotlinked graphic before the page completely loads..

    Hold on...........now I see the banner...it is a picture of SoberByker holding a banner begging for Rep Points...........

    I hear if you give him a Rep Point the banner will go away.........

    No, that is the 1 pixel black 'border' put around the banners for stylistic purposes. Before the ad is finished loading it has no height/width so the 1px border looks like a 2x2 black dot.

    There are however other things tracking site usage such as google analytics.
