go figure never had any issues purchasing transferring, etc. Just got done my LTCF Renewal, About a month ago), and i get put into review status today when trying to purchase my Taurus PT1911SS. So i get to sit and wait. got my holster though! Sorry for the rant.

PICS have been acting since the holidays, its probably nothing, its been running red hot since november 6th, . all the panic buyers you know , they want their gun and "a box of bullets"

i am not worrying about it, i assume it is a computer time out issue, or just down thing. just annoying especially just finding out i been sitting on the money for this thing for about 6 months and did not even know it until yesterday.

Question though this is basically the same thing the Sheriff goes through on the LTCF checks ?

Yes, PICS is the same for purchase and LTCF checks.

There are a number of variables as to why you could have gone into review. Someone with same name got arrested/convicted of something, busy system, system down, etc.

This time of year seems to get a bit more busy system issues because of all the deer season sales.

since i started buying guns in 08, pics always went smoothly, until last year around spring, now everytime the FFL always needs to speak with someone.

The NCIS, FBI Background Check system went down twice this past week-end
due to the extreme volume of weapons purchases nationwide. In another
thread a week or so back, PSP added additional personnel and more lines to
handle the increase in sales/request. Could be the "The System" is getting
flooded with PICS checks.

i am not worried about it, nothing on my record to be of concern or restrict me anyway. just an overall annoyance though, LOL. talked to the store today on something else, and they said they have had a few the last few days either no one answering or it going into review after 30+ min wait. (fingers crossed), i'll get the call to go get her today.
