Default Obama really wants my vote....

I just got a phone call here at work, and on the other end was a woman who I could barely understand.

She asked me if I voted yet, and when I said no (I really did at 7:00am), she said that her people would be glad to come and pick me up, and drive me to the polls so I can vote for Obama.
I asked her who she worked for, but she would not tell me.
When I told her that Obama was not getting my vote, she hung up on me...

    WTF is that.....

they called my friend a few times trying to get his vote for Obama. I don't think he's registered to vote, though.

I would have said. That would be great. I'll wait for you. Let them drive you to your precinct... then cast a vote for Mccain. When they drop you off tell them what you did and have a good laugh.

You should have taken her up on the offer Ahhh, the craft of counter-measures I can see them sitting out front now, beeping their horn

Would that be some sort of bribe since it seems the offer of a ride to vote would be contingent upon you voting a certain way?

That's sure as hell what it sounded like.
The phone number was blocked, so I could call back. I just wanted to see how they answered the phone..

    I like this idea!

Even if you already voted, having them drive out to pick you up for naught would have meant they weren't driving out and picking somebody else up that would have voted for obama. And you'd still get a good laugh. Especially if you have a bunch of McCain signs in your yard.

didn't hillary's campaign do the same thing (offer to pick people up)?

I don't mind people offering to help others get to the polls. I actually admire that. I would just like it to be unconditional. Sort of like going through the rolls and saying anyone over 65 gets a call "Hello sir/ma'am I am calling local voters to make sure everyone who is inclined to vote is able. Do you have transportation to the polls?" Of course the Republican party would go through their registered voters and the Democrats would do the same, but the caveat should NOT be I'd like to get you to the polls to vote for Obama/McCain.
