Understand if you get caught and fired there`s no UE and your resume will have a black mark on it. Their talk is cheap, everybody wants to be a tuff guy but don`t believe 90% of it.

Sound like you're in a jam there. I do see your point and I would probably be doing the same thing. As far as I can see you are doing the right thing by looking else where. Does not seem like a good working environment, seems things could turn bad for the new guy. Almost sound like you got your self a job in a prison and I am sure the guys probably "click up" the same as they would on the inside. Keep looking and "watch your six" man. Good luck. -BB

is that at Dunder-Mifflen? the secretary there is cute...

hey, they are working... they are honest about their past... maybe they're really staying on the straight and narrow...

but, you never know. AND it's always good to keep on the lookout for a better job.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but believe me, it's on the damned list.

Watch your back, and keep an eye out for other jobs. I hate to say it, but that is the type of people you will find in most work environment of that type.
Hopefully you have something small that tucks away well, p3at, NAA mini rev. or that nature.
I can sympathize with you, I have worked security in such placess, and if you think they are peaved because you are on a lift, see how they are when you bust them doing drugs in the parking lot at break.

agreed. You need to find a new line of work, or suck it up, and dont look for some other job in a warehouse stacking things, its generally not your PhD's that are moving heavy crap around in a warehouse for a living.

I was doing electrical work in SC, on a job for about 4 months when a new guy starts. Get to talkin to him a little and he says this was the only job he could find that he could walk to, he just got out and was in a halfway house right up the street. Later on, come to find his most recent stint was for armed robbery. he was a bank robber. He would tell me stories of him walking in then walkin out with cash and watching the reports on the news and laughing.

He actually became one of my closest friends in SC, for a while (kinda relapsed) would do anything for ya, at any time.

I wouldn't risk being caught with a handgun where you aren't supposed to have one. Go to work, do your job, go home. Do keep looking for different employment though.

Yep and I`ve worked with the worst of the worst. Warehouses and pier forwarders off Freilinghausen in Newark and Hunt`s Point Market in the Bronx. Never had any problems.
