I am looking for some recommendations on rear iron sites for my AR15? I do not want to spend $130. Thanks

Are these going to be your main sights or a BUIS? Are you looking for fixed or flipup, national match?

Knowing what sort of upper you already have would be helpful, too.

Yep, more info needed. Are you looking for a flip up BUIS, or fixed? (Assuming flat top upper here). Do they need to be low profile? If so, how low?

One thing that you need to remember is that it's strictly "pay to play" with certain stuff, and that you get what you pay for. Decent rear BUIS will run you up to and including $130, believe it or not.

Re: Recommedations on iron sites on AR!!
I have a flat top upper and would be my main sites so fixed or flip up which ever would be more reliable. Was looking for something that was none peep site and more conventional but all I can find is peep. Yes this is my first AR. Thanks

Re: Recommedations on iron sites on AR!!
Do you currently have a front sight? (The big triangle thing by the gast block in front), or do you have rails that cover it? Or is it a low-profile gas block with a rail on top of it?
A LOT of people run a fixed front site, and just look "around" it mentally, then a fold-down site in the back.
The fold-down sites are good for "OH SHOOT!" but not all that great for national match precision.
Rear sights come in two varieties:
A1 - just has left-right adjustment (the up/down happens by adjusting the front sight post)
A2 - it can move left/right AND up/down - this is more precise, but harder to make in a flip-up sight. There are a couple.

Re: Recommedations on iron sites on AR!!
I have a DPMS rear sight on an M4gery. Basically, it's a detachable carry handle without the handle part. It was $50 or $60, I think.
I have an ARMS #40 on a 9mm upper. It's a flip-up. Adjustable for windage only. I bought it years ago, and have no idea what I paid for it.
Both work, just use threadlocker when you mount them. Both come with peep apertures, but I think there's a company that makes notched inserts. At least at shorter ranges, the standard peep is faster, which is why they are so popular.Removed NRA Life Member pic. LaPierre and Chris Cox are ruining NRA.

I have this one on my middy, and its rock solid

peep is conventional on an AR, and IMO a much much better system than the leaf and post set up.
