    Default transfer question

    hello folks,

I'm in philly, and I've got a friend that's gotten into a bit of legal trouble due to a bar fight. Said friend has been to court, etc and sentenced with some probation. Due to the fact that it was a fight he cannot own any guns, so he wants to give them to me instead of letting the police destroy them. He's got 3 handguns.

That said, can we just transfer them all at once at any FFL? Is transferring multiple guns going to cause me any problems?

sure, he can trnasfer them to you at a FFL.

that FFL is required to send to the ATF a "multiple handgun sales form" with the gun info.

FFLs must do this for any person buying 2 or more handguns in a 5 business day timeframe.

    Mr. JayBell is spot on..

    Also,

If he is now a prohibited person - he has 60 days from the date of sentencing to dispose of the guns or otherwise be in further violation of the law.

If he isn't permanently prohibited, rather temporary prohibited due to probation, he could loan them to a licensee for them to hold until his terms are complete.

True for PA prohibiting disabilities. For Federal disabilities dispossession must be immediate.
