    Default spoke with LEO

2 of them as a matter of fact...1 local and 1 PSP...in regards to fingerprinting. They both asked what it was for...would you believe when i said for gun carry permit neither one of them came back with "but PA doesn't require fingerprints for LTCF"....

They don't need a LTCF so they probably don't know.

A lot of LEOs have LTCFs... Plus, people go to the PSP all the time for fingerprints for out-of-state licenses, like Florida.

from what ive found, leo are minimalists when approached with conversation, they asked what it was for, you answered, case closed, dont think they really want to sit there and debate laws or requirements with you unless you're in violation of something.

As am i, when talking with LEO's. I've found that, less is more when talking to a cop, regardless of what has happened.

    SON OF A BEECH!!!!

I spoke to the local LEO on tues AM asking about printing...he said to go to the station after work and he'll do it for me. I get there about 5...and call his cell. I get voice mail and let him know I'm there. 45 minutes later he's still not there and no return call...i had to go as my wife had to get to work by 6.

While there i noticed the records division does printing Tues and Wed 10am-2pm. So i arrange for a coworker to relieve me about lunch time (I dont normally get to go to lunch) on Wed. Wed comes...10am...11...12...1....2...this person never showed!

Wed PM is when i called PSP barracks. Woman says they do it THurs 4-7pm. So today i go...i "check" in. Trooper calls my name and then proceeds to tell me..."we can't do this for you. They told us not to do it until further notice as there is some kind of issue with no control of it. Your best bet is go to your local dept. They'll probably charge you for it but they should do it."

    WTF!!!!

I can't win. One of these apps was supposed to be in the mail YESTERDAY!!! I've been trying to get these prints done since last week...but the places that do it have the stupidest hours....!!!

PA doesn't have "gun carry permits", we have license to carry firearms.

As others said, they could have thought it was for an out of state permit, or for obtaining Class 3 firearms.

Go to a public place in town, drop your pants to your ankles, and just stand there.

The fingerprint problem will be resolved shortly thereafter.
Will I really care if LE later catch the guy who killed me ?
