    Default Iced Tea and Bullets

This past Saturday was just plain awesome. I made it a point to get out and shoot (and by out, I mean 4 feet outside my lower deck door). I aligned my gigantic picnic table with my homemade "range" down in the woods, and had myself a redneck weekend. I sat on that picnic table with a pitcher of strong brewed sweet tea and shot until the sun went down. My uncle stopped by and joined in for a bit, and later my wife came out. I had been telling her for a few weeks that she needed to learn how to use my weapons in case of my absence. I was quite pleased when she came out and asked me to show her how to use them. She's a natural. She shot it all, AK, 9mm, .22, etc. etc. And I feel much better knowing that she can grab any one of them and protect herself now. I had given her a basic function rundown when we got married, and had been making her recite the steps to me every once in a while. Now she's actually handled and operated them, and knows how to clear a jam, etc. I feel much better, and she had fun and learned alot, what more can you ask for.

I may have shot almost as much money in ammo as I made that week (in current ammo prices), but that's why I have a stockpile, hahah..

So grab yourself some sweet tea, a picnic table, and some targets of your choice and send some casings flying. If others see how much fun you're having by yourself, they might just join in.

If I started shooting from my picnic table in the back yard the only people "joining in" would be the officers who need to grab my legs to carry my cuffed ass out to the front yard for transport to the jail.

    LOL

    I hear you.

Where I grew up I used to do the exact same thing.
I had a backstop of railroad ties out back and behind the house was about an acre of field, and beyond that was miles of forest.

    I miss country living.

Only thing I am allowed to shoot off in my back yard is my big mouth. Wish I could live farther out from a city, but not being able to drive makes that an impossibilty.

Chillafusion, you had me at sweet tea! That does my southern heart good to hear that was a part of your day of shooting. Excellent!

It is wonderful loving far enough from town that you can have fun shooting in the backyard, isn't it?
