Default CC / family friendly beach vacation

So, we where thinking of going to Ocean City this summer, but unfortunately it is located in Maryland.
We have been to Viginia beach, but it gets too party for our liking.

Any suggestions on a good family beach vacation in a state that doesnt assault our rights?

    good tool:

also, if we do go to Ocean City, can I put my pistol in the trunk, unloaded with ammo in a seperate container or somesuch when we cross the border?

I'd suggest Chincoteague/Assateague, but it's a "National Seashore" managed by NPS, so despite the fact that it's in VA, you're out of luck as far as carrying.

Nope. That's only good if you're passing through or your destination is a location where you're permitted to have the firearm (shooting range, repair shop, etc.). You can't legally have it in your vehicle 'just in case', even in an unloaded condition.

Have you considered Myrtle Beach? They do honor our LTCF, but their preemption statute isn't as complete, so you might have an issue at the beach itself....might be worth more investigation.

Myrtle Beach is in South Carolina. Unless the law has changed in the last few months, Pennsylvania LTCF is not honored by the State of South Carolina.

Doh...you're right. I was thinking it's in North Carolina. Perhaps some other beach in NC?

The Delaware beaches are good if you have a UT or FL non-res. CCW permit.

Topsail Island, NC. Give it a google. We went there a couple years ago and it was great. Not a party town, just relaxing on the beach with the kids. Theres stuff to do but it's not like Myrtle or OC. I loved it and we're planning on going again next year.

    Tell my wife.

It would be nice if S.C. would change their rules. Half of Pennsylvania plays golf on the Grand Strand at some point during the year.
