"accurate" AK
Ok, I know the AK will not be doing any sub-moa, but whats the more accurate versions? And how accurate?
Can you get 2 MOA without pricey bullets ?
I kinda miss my AK, but I dont miss missing my targets !
, so I am just wnating to know: is there an AK that doesnt cost AR money, and still get decent accuracy?

Re: "accurate" AK
what kind of ranges are you dealing with?
100 or 1000?
100 yards isn't an issue with an ak. one hole groups? not even close. on the paper? not a problem
minute of man out to about 150-200yards is very realistic for just about any of them....even a wasr....once you straighten out the sights.it's only metal, we can out think it....

Re: "accurate" AK
I read an article in Guns and Weapons For Law Enforcement where they tested the SAR1 AK with corbons 150gr x39 ammo.
they achieved sub 1" groups on most firing strings (at 100m) and achieved 1 1/2" group.
obviously this ammo is pricey, but its VERY good ammo.
the issue with AK accuracy is twofold:
1. loose chamber to take 7.62 x 39 ammunition manufactured by almost any comblock, or previous comblock country
2. short, coarse sight radius
best bet is to sample quite a few different manufacturers of ammunition until you find one that shoots the best.
also remember, the AK is designed to shoot MOC (minute of chest) out to 400m or so, its a combat arm, not a target/sniper rifle"Oderint Dum Metuant" - BMFH

Re: "accurate" AK
The most accurate AK is a Russian SKS.
(had to say it)
I know a guy with a "sniper" AK, it's a bit heavier than normal and has a scope. Couldn't hurt....

Re: "accurate" AK
This youtube video has a pretty neat slow mo of an AK firing full auto. Its interesting to see how much it moves around.

(Its a comparison of m16 vs ak47, but 9 seconds in is some ak footage)
