Internet down / stay in contact thread
Here is an idea I have been thinking about for a long time. How could we stay in contact if the net goes down, or even the forum or an emergency? Using the six degrees of separation theory, I think we could all stay in contact. For instance, Walleye hunter has contact with me.
I have the following contact information for members.
Walleye hunter
Rosco the Iroc
Gunsnwater
Nancy in Pa
Dontknowme
Schwetty
and others by name.
I know Walleye has contact with other members. So without listing personal information, should an emergency arise, we would be able to then exchange information off the forum.
If you want, who do you have contact with? Just screen names if you want to participate. If you have anything negative to say, please keep it to yourself. Thank you!Aggies Coach Really ??? Take off the tin foil bro.

I like it. There are a number of members here in northern Chesco and surrounding Berks and Montgomery counties close to me but have no contact info other than this forum. But I have been to Walleye's for breakfast so maybe we could meet there before we defend the next Pickett's Charge.

Re: Internet down / stay in contact thread
Excellent post. Hopefully everyone has Gunlawyer or Sigforlife on speed dial!
Alpacaheat and Calzonew/sauce are close to home, and I've got Streaker, Justinhemi and Walleye's contacts. I may have Scruff, Subdude, Manxdriver and KCJones tucked away too. It wouldn't hurt to build an informal network WITHOUT a true single point database. Having 3 or 4 local members you can call in an emergency is good planning.Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God.

Re: Internet down / stay in contact thread
It sounds like good second step but the first step I need is a local group that can be texted an SOS and we all show up ready to defend at that location. If I know that I am expecting 'visitors', I think I could back them off and hold them off for a little while but before too long I'd probably be in trouble. And if I had to run to someone else's castle to assist, I could at least give them something to think about before they even knew I was coming or could see me.

I have EmptyMag's number, so I feel like I can at least get deals and sale info texted to me.
What we need is a ham radio network, but that sure is a pain in the rear.
If the internet gets blacked out in a scenario I imagine cellular would also be down in a lot of those scenarios.
If we are concerned with internet being down, but imagine cell working, then maybe a group chat on the Telegram ap is useful to set up ahead of time. I have a lot of users' contact info, whether you gave it to me or not.
