Default Ok I'm 99.9% sure on this just want that other .1% crystalized

So I'm taking the fam. on vacation to North Carolina to see my brother.

I know Pa has reciprocity with North Carolina, so that means I am 100% legal to carry my weapon with me correct? We are driving down.

Just remember MD and DC.. You wont be able to carry on your person in those places on your way down, you'll have to transport under federal provisions.

While in NC, you'll be able to carry just like if you were a NC resident with a NC permit.

100% legal to carry in NC using the reciprocity agreement. Im actually going to Myrtle Beach in SC and driving down the only state you cannot carry through is MD

although in SC you cant carry unless you have a SC permit.

Yep . Actually you're OK once you get in VA. Or you can OC in both states if it's easier.

Read the carry laws for each state. I believe VA if you get out of the car you cant leave your weapon unless someineelse has CCW

I am not planning on stopping in MD or DC, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Thank you guys for answering my question.

Those are states that only honor resident licenses of states they have agreements with.

    Which route are you traveling?
I go to North Carolina 2 weeks a month for work and carry there and have learned the Laws.
If you go 70 to 79S and go through WVa, Va, to NC you can OC or CC all the way.
If you are going through MD down 81 you MUST have a lock box when going through MD.
In NC you cannot OC or CC anywhere alcohol is served and this includes restaurants also no OC or Cc in places with a No Firearms or No Weapons sign posted. Also don’t think of having even 1 beer while either OC or CC.

In NC you can not carry in bars or restaurants that serve alcohol or places that are posted "No Firearms". Yes, signs have weight in NC.
Also you can OC in North Carolina but they have this little ditty in there laws.

“By common law in North Carolina, it is unlawful for a person to arm himself/herself with any unusual and dangerous weapon, for the purpose of terrifying others, and go about on public highways in a manner to cause terror to others. The N.C. Supreme Court states that any gun is an unusual and dangerous weapon for purposes of this offense. Therefore, persons are cautioned as to the areas they frequent with firearms.”

    Here are the NC statutes:
ANY EDUCATION PROPERTY – A CLASS 1 FELONY
This includes: school buildings, school bus, campus, grounds, recreational area, athletic fields or any property owned, used, or operated by any board of education of school board of trustees… This includes public and private schools, but NOT Home Schools (NC GS 14 269.2.)
Assemblies and establishments where alcoholic beverages are sold and consumed (NC GS 14 269.3)
State Capitol Building (and Grounds) NC GS 14 269.4.
Executive Mansion (and Grounds) NC GS 14 269.4.
Western Residence of the Governor (and Grounds) NC GS 14 269.4.
Any of the General Court of Justice (If a court is housed in a building containing nonpublic uses in addition to the court, then this prohibition shall apply only to that portion of the building used for court purposes while the building is being used for court purposes) NC GS 14 269.4.
    Parades NC GS 14 277.2.
Funeral processions NC GS 14 277.2.
Picket lines NC GS 14 277.2.
Demonstration on private health care facility or on any public place owned or under the control of any state or local government NC GS 14 277.2.
During any Declared State of Emergency or in the immediate vicinity of a riot (off of one’s own premises. NC GS 14-288.7
Concealed ban: (violation is a Class 2 Misdemeanor)
    All of the above, plus:
Law enforcement or correctional facilities, NC GS 14 415.11(c)
Buildings housing only State or federal offices, NC GS 14 415.11(c)
Offices of the State or federal government that is not located in a building exclusively occupied by the State or federal government, NC GS 14 415.11(c)
Financial institutions NC GS 14 415.11(c)
