black SXT ?

I had thought that when Winchester re-marketed their black talon ammo they no longer had the black lubalox coating.

I bought some Winchester Ranger SXT 9mm 127grain +p+ ammo just recently and was suprised to open the box and find brass cased ammo with a black head.

anyone got any info on this?

I still have some of the original Black Talons in 9mm, from way back when. Everyone keeps telling me they are illegal to have. I just laugh and tell them, OK.

Mine have the silver cases. Don't know about the new black coated ones though. I'll keep an eye out for them.

this listing here has a pic of a 9mm +p+ 127 grain as well, but as the pic (and as I expected) it is a copper jacket, not black.

BTW, that is some smokin' hot stuff, I coulda/shoulda bought a ton of it for $12 bucks a box years ago. It chrono'ed out of my 2 1/2 " SP101 9mm revolver at 1280 fps ! The 9mm did better then my buddies .357 Mag out the same barrel length.
