    Default Tactical vest options?

I have an old milsurp vest, but not really what I want nor good enough IMO so I am looking for a decent tactical vest.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Feel free to also add things related to said vest.

If it can be used as a flack jacket, would you consider selling it?

I guess the first thing to ask is do you want it stop bullets or not?

What kind of "flak" are you worried about?
A flak jacket is not generally the same as "bulletproof" or bullet resistant armor.

Are you looking for a plate carrier, soft armor or a load bearing vest? Do you want a vest or just a chest rig?
I've got a Rothco load carrying vest. It's a lower end vest but I have no complaints so far. The zipper, molle, straps, buckles and material seem to be of good quality.

You might be better off wearing some kind of actual armor rather than a flak jacket if you're concerned about being Kentucky Ballistic'd. Not sure what will help you if you find yourself cuddled up on a bomb like that. Maybe try to get an IOTV with the throat guard, delt protectors, and groin panel?

Proper attire for shooting sketchy SLAP rounds from your 50BMG rifle.

For the OP, define the intended purpose, then you can get helpful info.

Its a semiauto M3, they usually blow the top cover off, not like one of those
barretts or other type rifles that turn into pipe bombs. Just want a little insurance.

The real question is, what do you want this piece of equipment to do?
