You have a strange one indeed, my W.A.G. would be some sort of industrial equipment, sort of like a surveying transit? I'm guessing you didnt buy it new?
Only other guess since its a low power scope is some type of "running game" reticle, but since its calibrated from one side to the other and not from the middle I dont know how that would work. Now you got me curious, I'm gonna have to keep an eye on this thread.

It looks like it would be used to measure something rather than shoot something... lol Get it to the range, go out 100 yards, put 2 objects 50 feet apart, and see what it looks like through the scope... That's all I can think of... I saw the artillery recticle when I was searching last night, but as stated, his scope goes from 0-100 L to R, and the artillery goes from the middle at 0 and spreads out to the left and right...

It isn't a rifle scope reticle, I know that much. I did notice that the center of the reticle isn't 0, it's 50. It makes me think that is some sort of field scope for artillery or measuring something. I've seen a LOT of reticle, but never seen anything like this before. I may just call Leupold on this because I'm curious as all get out. Have you called Leupold?

Ok, so I called Leupold because I was curious. He said this is NOT a standard reticle and as far as he knows, not something that anybody used for shooting. The gentleman's name was Garth, and he said that the only thing that he could think of it being would be a reticle that was used by the forrest service to measure the height of trees. This seems a bit odd to me because I don't understand why there would be hashes on the underside of the reticle as well. I suppose that might be what it is, but he said that's all the information that he had. Hmmm, strange.

That was what I was leaning toward.."A running Game type reticle"..I realize it scales one way ...but ..shit I don't know..I was gonna call Leupold also they made it figured they would know right away..I believe it's a Pistol scope altho the eye relief on it is quite dramatic like 16" or so..

They told me it was not a "stock" scope, and probably a custom reticle. They said as far as they knew the only thing that it could be was a reticle for the forest service used to measure the heights of trees. I have no idea, that's just what they said.
