A bit confused by my manual.
From what Im reading in my Mossberg manual it says the 590 holds 8 2-3/4" shells. Mine only holds five. Is it because of the sub model? It has M590A1 stamped on the side. I might be picky but hey if it should hold eight I would very much like those extra three!
It doesnt have a dowel. First off the manual lists which have a dowel and which dont. Besides I can tell just by looking that it only holds five.

Re: A bit confused by my manual.
If it is a 590 is should have a magazine tube that runs the length of the barrel. does yours?

Re: A bit confused by my manual.
No the tube isnt as long as the barrel. Yeah its an 18.5" barrel. Looks like Karma has it right.
Ill have to get an extension for a few extra shells.

Re: A bit confused by my manual.
No he dont.....
The standard 590A1 has a 20" barrel and holds 8+1, yours is a less common 18" model and holds less. I would guesstimate 90% of the A1's have the 20" barrel as people really want the extra capacity.
Didnt you research these before you bought?
Edit: You can find a +2 extention, but you may loose your sling mount.Last edited by RaisedByWolves; May 9th, 2009 at 10:07 AM.
