    Default Hypothetical question...

Lets say I had to go to DC for some business. Now obviously I could not directly bring my firearm since DC is my final point of destination.

But... could I theoretically drive to a metro station in NoVA somewhere, park, lock my gun up and hit the metro into DC? Or would that still violate interstate transport since I am going to DC? Or is that just a nice loophole in the system?

    I'm assuming the latter.

I wouldn't think it would be illegal, but why would you want to do that? It doesn't accomplish anything. You are still unarmed in DC and you gun is locked up somewhere that isn't secure. If you leave it at home, no one knows it's there. If you lock it up in a public place, you run the risk of someone seeing you put it in the locker.

Sorry, won't read question because the subject is not in the thread title. This place is becoming full of threads like this and I have no idea which ones would interest me enough to click on anymore.

I don't see how since (as far as the gun is concerned) you originated in PA and were destinated in VA...you just happened to catch a bus to DC for the day...hypothetically...

but don't forget, IANAL and I'll let the more law knowledgeable give you a definite answer

I'd rather be armed part of the time (PA & VA) then not armed at all.

You forgot to mention WV and you got a decent drive west then back east again...unless you're crossing into Maryland...in which case be very careful

The short answer is yes. While you are in Virginia if you go into a restraurant to eat and it sells booze, you MUST be in Open Carry.

Locking it in the car assumes that it is secure beyond just the car being locked.

If you go there via West Virginia, you are ok to carry all the way, but if you have to pass through Maryland, you must unload and secure per federal rules.
