I got it!!!

Just recieved my new LTCF permit, last Tuesday after getting home to see a E-mail from the Sheriff`s office saying come and get it, you`re approved. I mailed it Thursday morning, and recieved the E-mail Tuesday morning, to me thats pretty fast in York Co. after moving here from Maryland, where you could`nt get a LTCF no way-no how, it sure feels strange to walk into a Wal-Mart, or the Giant with a concealed weapon, I`m very self conscience about making sure my shirt is pulled down to keep it out of sight as not to alarm anyone. I`ve been shooting all my life, but decided to ask my oldest son for some training in the safe practices of carrying a concealed weapon, he`s a Police Officer, and his training has been more extensive than what I`ve had. I purchased a XD40 subcompact, with a BlackHawk Thumb snap holster. Sorry for being so long-winded, it`s just that I am so thankful, and I appreciate so much!. The Training has just begun! Can you mail them in??? I thought I need to bring it in personally , just curious cuzz mine is going to be turned in next week as Im on vac. OH and Congrats on your approval !

Congratulations!!on your Ltcf..i got mine about a month ago maybe a month and a half and i brought the paper work to york county sheriffs and they emailed me the next day saying come get it!!great moment ,so i know how you feel.

I guess if you take it down in person it`s faster, But I just mailed mine in on a Thursday, mail comes in the early afternoon, and they e-mailed me the following tuesday, in the morning, I figure a day and a half to get there, the the background check in which they did`nt call my references, or my Employer, and the E-mail said, Sir your approved, come in and pick up your License. Hooray... sure beats double driveing and parking!, parking there is sometime hard to find. Pulled up across from the courthouse, put four quarters in the meter figuring it would take at least an hour, but in and out in less than 15 minutes, with a shiny new laminated card. Everyone there was most curteous, polite and very helpful. one thing though, NO CELL PHONES, KNIVES, and REMOVE YOUR BELT, empty your pockets, and don`t bring anything that you don`t want to draw attention to yourself, ( I accidently left a quarter in the box, and the Deputy said Sir, you forgot something. Proceded to Sheriffs Office in the rear of the courthouse, and said I`m here to pick up my LTCF, he said sign here in three places, stand there for you Picture, and sir heres you Permit, said thank you sir, and out the door I left, very much impressed with the the professionalism, courtesy, and all around helpfulness. Hats off to the York Co. Sheriffs Office. They have there act together, and there FAST too!!!
