Question about election day

Is there anyway to know what the ballot is going to have on it before I go vote? A lot of times there are other things on the ballot (besides the obvious) that I know nothing about, like voting on a resolution, or a motion to keep something in place etc... I hate not to vote on these things, but a lot of times I have no clue that they were on the ballot in the first place, thus I am not knowledgeable to what I am voting for or against. Ideas?

Contact your local election board and ask them when sample ballots will be available.

The local party headquarters (for either party) may be of some assistance as well.
