    Step 1. Move here
    Step 2. Get a PA ID/DL
    Step 3. You're a resident!

There is a 200-question written test you must take, administered by Pennsylvania's Department of Immigration.

    No study guides are available.

    The test questions change daily.

Passing grade is determined by the test administrator.

If you fail, the border guards will provide you an armed escort to the New Jersey border.

No, really, see previous response. Yes, it's truly that easy.

Two answers to this one since it is on this forum.

When you move your residence to PA you need to change your ID or Drivers License to PA. You have a set time to do that (check with the DOT for time frame)

To buy a gun you need to show your PA ID or Drivers License. If buying from a FFL you will undergo a background check. If the people doing the check (PSP Firearms Unit) have any questions you may have to prove that you have lived in PA for longer than 3 months.

You have 5 days after moving to PA to surrender your out-of-state DL in exchange for a PA DL. Welcome to the land of the free brother.

I never remember reading anything in the UFA about the 3 month residency thing. Where does this come from?

    Zef,

I was mixing up my forms, that requirement is for resident aliens who want to purchase a gun. If the FFL asks they are supposed to provide proof of residency (normally lease, utility bills, etc.). I beg forgiveness on this, I didn't look close enough to see where the poster now lives (NY).

Okay, thats fine. Forgiveness granted. I don't know my laws very well and always looking to learn. I can understand having to prove residency...but isn't that what the PA DL does? Don't you have to prove residency for that? I know my wife did when she moved to MD. Had to take bills along with her name and address on them. Does PA do this in order to get a DL? If so, I think the FFL asking for these types of things would be overkill.
