    Question factory built sawed offs?

Heres on for all of ya,If it IS NOT legal to make a sawed off shotgun,is there a company that makes a 12.ga double barrel shotgun thats so short they market it as a pistol so theres no hassle of extra paperwork an all that crap.

No such thing. Only way you could get a double barrelled shotgun that's classified as a pistol is to get a .410/45LC derringer. What you're describing sounds just like the Ithaca Auto Burglar, which is either a SBS or an AOW, forget which.

    Vince,

    Autoburglar is an AOW.

if its made form a shotgun with a stock, its a SBS, if its made from a virgin action by ithaca (or the MFG), with no stock, its an AOW

It IS legal to make a SBS but not until after you have paid the tax and have approved paperwork.

Besides that, a 18.5 inch side by side is pretty handy.

The biggest difference in an AOW and a Shorty is the stamp. AOWs are $5.00 for the transfer and the SBS has another fee...I think it's $200.00 but have never bought a SBS. I have a Mossberg / Cobray AOW conversion on an M-500 and it can only wear a pistol grip. Ever. Wilson makes one called the "Wilson Witness Protection" made with a shortened stock on a Remington 870.
