Berry in Glock
I made a great Deal on a Glock over the weekend. I cast All my Bullets, But with Glocks polygonal barrels .Its not a good Idea to shoot cast in them. My question has to do with Berry plated Bullets. There web site states they are OK to shoot in the Glock. Has any one used them in there Glock, and how did they do. I have loaded Berry bullet in the past. And they did great. But what about the Glock. I think the Berry Bullets would be cheaper than an after market Barrel .

Re: Berry in Glock
I started using Berry's in my G30 & in my G23 conversion to 9mm. I've shot about 500 rounds of them thru the .45 & maybe 800 thru the 9mm, & I haven't had a problem with them. I load them to mid range jacketed bullet specs for the specific bullet weight/type. They make a good inexpensive practice load.

Cheaper to buy jacketed bullets from here.

Re: Berry in Glock
I load a lot of Berry's bullets. Never had any problems. My HK has a polygonal barrel and has several thousand through it. Berry's recommends loading them using the data for hard cast bullets.

Re: Berry in Glock
Another question on the Glock. I copied this from another site, The guy seemed to know what he was talking about. What’s your opinion.
Brass fired in a factory Glock .40 cal. barrel, has a prominent bulge in it from the unsupported, exposed base of the cartridge. When sized with conventional sizing dies, there is a remaining ridge akin to the metal on belted magnum rifle cartridges. This is a weak point that causes a shear line.
These cases should be roll sized, or run through a LEE carbide crimp die to eliminate the shear line from the cartridge web area.
Fully supported after market barrel chambers eliminate the bulge in fired brass.

Re: Berry in Glock
I have seen some .40 brass fired from a Glock that had a very prominent bulge in it. It was bad enough that I discarded it and would not attempt to reload it. I don't know if Glock has moved to supported chambers in the .40's or not. I'm sure some of the Glock guys would know.

Re: Berry in Glock
I've used about 500 of the 115g so far in my G-19. I used starting load for jacketed bullets (actually about .2g under starting). I found about 1 in 5 would no cycle the action properly. When I bumped the charge up to 0.1g over starting load, they ran fine.
