How close is a PT 1911 to a Colt 1911???

I don't mean in terms of quality, workmanship or what have you. I'm looking at a Serpa holster made for the Colt, but want to make sure the Taurus will fit as well. Anybody kow for sure?

I'm gonna call their customer service center on Monday, but was just curious if anyone had any experience with these holsters and the 1911 platform.

it should be the same dimensions unless it has an accessory rail

The Serpa will work just fine for the PT1911. I have one for mine.

Thanks BlueDevil. I was hoping that someone here was using a serpa for the taurus. I figured they wold be the same dimensions, but I have had less than good luck with my assumptions as of late.

You shouldn't have problems with just about any holster designed for a full-sized 1911. My PT1911 fits perfectly in a BladeTech Revolution, Galco Matrix, and PWL 120TS (my current favorite). A SERPA is next on my shopping list as well.
