Looking for a range that has rentals in SW PA
Can anyone recommend a few indoor ranges that have hand guns for rent? Do you have to be a member or can you just pay for the range time and the rental to try out a few models before purchasing?

Anthony Arms is the only one I know of for sure. http://www.anthonyarms.com/
They're a bit expensive... actually quite expensive if you are going to shoot a LOT. (and you MUST buy their expensive ammo and no bringing back unfired ammo the next time you visit.) I think they offer a membership which makes it more affordable. It's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to stay there.
My idea of affordable is $60 a year with indoor/outdoor facilities and tons of scheduled events. That's why I joined PMSC and I don't regret it.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

FWIW, Anthony's ammo isn't all that expensive (pretty much same price as I've seen elsewhere for 9mm FMJ target ammo,) but it has $12.00/hr range fees, plus renting the gun itself will be another $10.00. It gets pricey quick, especially if you want to rent a second gun that's a different caliber. Their selection of firearms isn't that extensive, either.
I think A&S in Youngwood also has rentals. Never been there, though.
x2 on the PAFOA shoot. I just found out I might not be able to make this one either but PMSC is a really great place to shoot.

If you go on Anthony Arms Web Site, you can print out a coupon for 1/2 off the price of a range fee when two of you go and shoot.
This may save you some money. If you are there on Thursday nights, say hello, I am the one running the Defensive Pistol League.
Hope you have a good time.Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.

A&S in Youngwood and The Army Navy Store in Latrobe both rent guns.
I own guns!

Some great suggestions guys. Thanks!
I have tried A&S in Youngwood and it is a great place to shoot. Unfortunately, they do not have any of the models that I am looking to try out at this time.

if you can make it to the group shoot and are looking to try something specific you might try posting it in the group shoot thread. someone may have one and not think to bring it unless they know someone would like to try it. Does that make sense?
