Decent Body armor and price.. ??
http://infidelbodyarmor.com/index.ph...=index&cPath=4
These are a bit heavier (steel) but can easily take multiple shots. And steel overall doesn't really expire. These are lvl III.
2 Plates and a vest for ~$400 doesn't seem bad. And ~$11.00 ea for side plate utility pouches.
Seems decent.

And the plates are only 9 pounds each!
You can do MUCH better than this.

i like the idea of no hassle steel plates that i can just toss in the closet. i wonder if you need to slip something behind them to help distribute the energy or if its even needed at all

I might consider that kind of weight if the price was a couple hundred lower.
Steel plates can cause rounds to "explode" on impact, which can be dangerous. Military issue plates cause the rounds to separate, and trap fragments.
At/near those prices I think you could find ceramic (issue type)."Cives Arma Ferant"

There a group buy on nice plates in the GB subforum. You'd need a plate carrier. But if I were you at least take a look.

Do you need it? Maybe.
Do you want it? Yes. The bullet transfers all that force into the plate. All the force is going to transmitted straight back into your delicate little body at the point of impact. You want a Trauma Plate - because if you get hit you want to be returning fire, not gasping for air."Cives Arma Ferant"

These people who do the ar500 armor plates add a coating so you don't get hit by the pieces of the impact.

Re: Decent Body armor and price.. ??
what i posted does have the coating.
"Infidel Body Armor is then coated in a special polymer that captures all of those bullet fragments, minimizing injury to the wearer and those around him/her."
And it is $400 for the dual plate/carrier combo.
I didn't see any polymer/kevlar for anywhere near that price. The problem is they can not typically take multiple shots not to mention over 100 rounds...
But this is why i am researching, and not in any rush.

I like the soft stuff better.
IIA Can be concealable but I personally like IIIA.
I have some expired batex IIIA that is big for me, I cant shoulder anything with it on but its good to toss over a car seat/car door or something if you need to.
